Love Never Fails

1 Corinthians 13: 4-8"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."

Hello, we are Jason and Beth McClellan and this is a bit of our testimony, our love story. In 2003, we were deeply in love and decided to marry and live happily ever after. Over the years, we allowed sin, selfishness and stupidity into our lives wedging that love aside until there was little left of that ‘happily ever after’ but hurt, anger, disappointment. We separated and subsequently divorced, hurting our children, our family and our shared friends as we each moved on with our lives.

Jan 2010, our paths crossed through a chain of events that most would view as negative circumstances but we KNOW that God’s hand was in all of it. We were given second chances in areas that we thought had been closed off to us, we gave and found forgiveness, we began healing and sought biblical, sound counseling to lay to rest the things that needed (HAD) to stay in the past. We ran with all we had to the love and promise of redemption and restoration that only God can provide. We opened our wounded hearts to the possibility of reconciliation. As we grew closer to God, we naturally grew closer to one another and reconciliation became more than a possibility - it became reality!

After prayer and counsel, we re-married in March of 2011.  Are we perfect?  Far from it!  Do we fight?  Well…yeah!  Is our story special?  Yes, to us; but, not in the eyes of God – through His mercy and grace and the love and forgiveness that are in every promise of His gospel…relationships can be healed, marriages can be restored, families can be reconciled.

God, also, brought us to a church where we could grow in His love…First Assembly of Morganton.  At FAM, we were welcomed and encouraged…we were loved. We now have a support network of godly, like-minded Christians who genuinely care about our lives, who pray with us and for us. There is always something going on at FAM that we can do together! That is such an important thing for couples…to share positive and encouraging time together. We look forward to the FAM Couples Retreat every year! The teaching sessions have enriched our lives tremendously and we get a chance for fellowship and fun with other couples!

Most importantly, we are serving the Lord together at FAM.  After several years on the media team, Jason is now a Royal Ranger commander. I teach the ladies Sunday school and sing on our FAM worship team.  God continues to honor us with His blessings, humble us with His love, and strengthen us for this journey together. ❤ #LOVENEVERFAILS
